Monitoring Services
CA offers high-quality, detailed monitoring of activities at the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and the Texas Legislature. These services are provided on an ongoing basis to clients who need to follow the rapid developments in the electric markets in Texas. We also offer a service that is based on the PUCT Filings List Service, in which we select and present for your review only those items that are of interest to the client, or which may otherwise inform the client of major activities that are underway at the PUCT. Along with this less voluminous list of PUCT filings, we send along automatically electronic copies of those items that we believe you will definitely want to see.
Timeline and Events Alerts
Clients may contract to receive timely notification of significant events by phone and email correspondence, as appropriate. CA associates keep calendars of upcoming events that are compiled regularly and can be provided to clients in addition to the special alerts we send when something of importance suddenly comes up. We are on every public email distribution list that we can locate at the PUCT and ERCOT, as well as some at the Texas Legislature. We pride ourselves in offering both speed and accuracy when providing the information of vital interest to our clients.
Research and Document Retrieval
Upon request, Competitive Assets will research topics of interest to our clients and also retrieve documents from major Texas regulatory agencies. We regularly perform research for our clients on price and tariff issues, and power plant information. We track what is happening with allies and competitors in the industry. Upon request, we acquire documents and research other issues at the PUCT, ERCOT, TCEQ, the Texas Legislature, FERC, the EPA, and other agencies. We sometimes summarize these filings upon request. The Competitive Assets associates also publish other reports from time-to-time on rulemakings, legislative hearings, ERCOT meetings and other special activities or government decisions. Notices are sent out via email as these new reports become available.
Professional Support
The Competitive Assets associates are highly experienced in preparing documents of all sorts for filings to be made at the Public Utility Commission of Texas, and other documents needed to fulfill the needs of interested parties who participate at ERCOT. They are often called upon to provide support in document preparation for clients and their attorneys. Our associates perform well in this role and have done so for a variety of clients. They also make the filings directly on behalf of clients when this is appropriate.
Strategic Assistance
One of our strengths is the ability to identify various strategies to accomplish high priority objectives. Competitive Assets's ability to provide critical strategic assistance is grounded in our in-depth knowledge of the Texas utility industry, the related government functions, and the persons and organizations who are active in this arena. PUCT Filings
The PUCT Filings List Service provides listings of filings made at the Public Utility Commission of Texas, and is available either daily or as a weekly composite list. The service includes ALL filings made at the PUCT's Central Records, including the initial filing made to open a new docket or project. The PUCT Filings List combines control number information with the name of the control number, the date of the filing, the party making the filing, and the name of the item filed, as these are reflected in the PUCT's Interchange.
